Daily Snow: Spitzing

I actually promised to keep this Powder Run secret. The reason why you still get a chance to see this pretty nice hidden Forbidden-Schlepplift-2-Westside Powder Run is the fact that I promised it to two local!? guides, who didn’t even knew this ride existed. At least not until we took them for a dare to head down this side of the mountain.

For several years it had been tough to cheat your way up the lift to Rosskopf since it is not allowed for Snowboarders for some obscure reasons. This has changed with the new management and so you head up with the lift and turn right across the ridge starting down an open snowfield to the west.

Keep to your right and burn through the light forest. If there is enough snow, this truly is an awesome part as well. There is a small creek crossing as you head right which should be no problem if there was enough snow to get you here.

You’ll cross a small path and end up at some huts. Walk the connecting street 200m to the right (uphill) until a signed path leads into a small patch of forest. Mount the board behind the forest and continue down to the street which runs directly to the new Suttner Squad.

Oh, and sorry guys for the broken promise.

I think they don’t have Internet access in Spitzing. And if they do, it’s too expensive ;-)
