The weather seemed to be bad on Saturday morning. The streets seemed to be crowded with people heading to clouded mountains. And it seemed that we might not even make it to my 30cm of fresh powder.
We decided to head for Unterammergau as it was close and we assumed that it was the least crowded resort. Just as we passed the Ettal monastery we caught the first sun beams and found the resort almost deserted.
No wonder that we spent the whole day clearing any patch of powder that got close to our boards. If you want to find our lines – here you go:
You ride up the two T-bar lifts and head back down right next to the lift. In the middle of the top lift a small foot path runs left into the forest. Hike up the path for 20 to 30 meters and then head down the steep powder slope.
You can either chose one of three gullies to brush through. All end on the left side of the beginners hill, enabling you to ride down to the lift without any further hiking.
Occasionally some rails and boxes are scattered just where you get back to the slope. So there is a chance that you can finish your powder session with breaking your bones showing off at some rail slides.
